In a recent trip to Copenhagen, Shepard Fairey encountered not only resistance to his art, but his perceived political stance. In a very strange turn of events, Fairey and one of his colleagues was beat up by two anti-Fairey thugs. Fairey received a black eye and a bruised rib. In addition to the targeted violence, a mural he had done for a local community was almost immediately vandalized with the graffito, "go home yankee hipster," and "no peace".
